Workshops, panels, programming Quarterly

Learning.

The knowledge transfer between the women who already know — and the women about to.

Workshops, panels, and small-group sessions that take senior South Asian women from curious to confident — on the deal mechanics, the lens, the language, the math.

A wide shot of a Brown Girls Money Moves learning panel — speaker on stage, full audience leaning in

The how

The knowledge transfer.

There are a lot of women in our community who are C-suite and senior heavy hitters. They share the network and the knowledge amongst themselves. Our job is to give that exchange a room — and to bring the next women in.

Learning at Brown Girls, Money Moves is exactly that. Angel Investing 101 for the women one to three years away from their first check. Panel programming with founders, investors, and the operators already in the cap table. Workshops on the deal mechanics, the math, the language, the lens.

Not a course. Not a webinar. A real room — sometimes small, sometimes 200 — where the women who already know pull the next women in.

What we teach

From curious to confident.

  • Angel Investing 101 — what a check actually looks like, end to end
  • Deal mechanics — terms, structures, dilution, follow-ons, the words to use in the room
  • Lens-setting — how to pick founders, industries, and bets that align with who you are
  • Founder fluency — sitting on the same side of the table, reading pitches the way investors do

Who shows up to learn

Senior women, building toward the same thing.

  • Operators and execs one to three years from their first check
  • Founders who want a clearer view of the other side of the table
  • Angels and almost-angels looking for sharper frameworks and the right peers
  • Anyone who has felt the FOMO and wants the education to go with it

Flagship workshop

Angel Investing 101.

We have held virtual workshops for South Asian women curious about angel investing and ready to learn the language, the mechanics, and the math.

What's covered

  • Introduction to angel investing — the lens, the asset class, the why
  • Deal analysis — how to read a deck, a cap table, and a term sheet
  • Accessing deals — how the best deals actually move through a network
  • The legal side — SAFEs, priced rounds, SPVs, and what you're signing
  • Adding value post-investment — the part most people miss
  • Case studies — real deals, real outcomes, real lessons
  • Investor mindset — how to think in portfolios, not transactions
  • Portfolio building — sizing, pacing, and diversification across stages

Past workshops

Angel Investing 101 has run with cohorts of South Asian women across Toronto, New York, San Francisco, Australia, and virtually — with small group sizes that let every participant ask the question they actually came to ask.
